Sealing
Sealing is covering tooth fissure
and hollows with pit and fissure sealant. Tooth
fissure and hollows, beacause of their difficult
structure are those places which are not easy to
clean. This may result in early decay.
The sealing procedure should
be done as soon as possible after cutting the first
teeth. The sixth teeth (first permanent molar teeth)
are the most exposed to caries. They come out at
the age of 6 - that is why it is so important
to seal them then. Teeth protected in this way
are checked every 6 months

Scaling
Scaling is the first treatment in the prevention
of a periodontal disease. It removes all of the
irritants from the crown and root surface to eliminate
inflammation and infection. It is carried out as
a supragingival or subgingival procedure depending
on the
location of the deposit. The objective of supragingival scaling
is to clean the clinical crown from calculus. It may be done
with ultrasonic instruments which produce vibrations. Finally,
surfaces are polished with pumice to leave the surface smooth.
